PLANNED OUTAGES
Planned outages take place when the Company interrupts the electricity supply to carry out maintenance work on power distribution lines; or when an emergency situation arises that must be attended to immediately. The Company sometimes has to interrupt power supply during hurricanes or other natural disasters, depending on the severity of the disaster and its impact on the power system.
A planned electricity outage ensures that our crews work effectively in a safe environment. The Company typically conducts scheduled maintenance outages during times when energy demands are lower, thereby reducing any inconvenience to our customers.
Consistent with our Guaranteed Standards, all planned power outages are announced to the public via hand-delivered notices, and through media advertisements to allow customers to adequately prepare.
