DEPOSITS
A security deposit is required when you open an account with JPS. The minimum deposit for residential accounts is $1500, while business accounts attract a minimum deposit of $6000. All deposits accrue interest annually, and this interest is shown in a separate line on your electricity bill.
If your electricity service is disconnected for non-payment of bills you may be required to increase your deposit. For residential customers: up to the equivalent of 60 days usage; for business customers: up to the equivalent of 90 days usage.
